There was a child went forth every day;
And the first object he look’d upon, that object he became;
And that object became part of him for the day, or a certain part of
the day, or for many years, or stretching cycles of years.
Thatobject features information about pieces found on the secondary market or in the waste stream. I strive to provide clean, clear prose about these objects and their creators, and I am passionate about research and attribution.
With an employment background that includes newspaper reporting, legal research & writing, and teaching elementary school, I have more than 20 years of experience in finding information and making it easily accessible to others.
My love for antiques and vintage items (and, indeed, for the sheer pleasure of discovery) stretches back into my childhood, when I would dig up old medicine bottles and bits of broken pottery from a Victorian dump site in our backyard. Over the years, I’ve worked in several antique stores and a furniture restoration workshop, as well as done a small trade in vintage pieces on eBay and Etsy.
If you’d like me to research an interesting vintage item for you, please contact me. There is no charge if I’m permitted to share my findings on this website. References are available upon request.
